Brought to life by the developer BeZenYo!, Snaileeyo Save Them is a highly enjoyable, indie 3D adventure game that puts the player in the shoes of a heroic little snail named after the game’s title. In it, the player has to guide Snaileeyo through different worlds to save the protagonist’s friends.

The objective may sound easy, but Snaileeyo Save Them makes it harder to achieve through a series of challenging levels. It comes with whimsical and cute graphics, yes, but it is not to be underestimated — dying over and over again due to the obstacles can get frustrating.

With various worlds filled with obstacles

One of Snaileeyo Save Them’s charms is its platformer nature, banking heavily on the block-like obstacles in each level. The snail hero can be guided to jump over them to press buttons or glide across them smoothly. Every level also features non-playable characters that can be interacted with, although they don’t offer much insight, as well as menacing enemies that are hunting down the player.

The aforementioned foes can be eliminated by trapping or zapping them using the special powers Snaileeyo can acquire. Scattered about each level are floating leaves, which can be picked up and will contribute to the overall score. At the same time, there are portals that can take the snail to a different area — however, the animations for these teleportation scenes are a bit jarring and off-putting.

Another factor that can be improved on is the lack of text overall — there is little to no textual context in-game, so its promising lore is more or less explored through the gameplay only. It tries to make up for that through intuitive controls, cute high-definition graphics, and action-packed levels. Besides that, the game also features original upbeat music that can get you hooked as you play.

In a nutshell, it’s safe to say that Snaileeyo Save Them holds a lot of promise. While the lack of text to read and guide the player can be off-putting for some, the other aspects are still worth checking out. It boasts multiple, lovingly crafted 3D worlds filled with obstacles to overcome and solve, leaves to collect, and more — help Snaileeyo rescue its friends.
